The Healthy Kids’ Recipe Card collection is a set of printable recipe cards that parents can use to teach their children about nutrition and traditional cooking. When children learn about nutrition early, it helps improve the nutrition in the home and in society as a whole. Your kids will learn a lot from being in the kitchen with you: measuring and nutrition, self esteem and independence. The cards are divided into into 8 sections: breakfast, lunch, dinner, snacks, beverages, treats, outdoors, and a section for parents. There are recipes on the front of each card and ways that you can use those recipes to teach your children on the backs, such as information on soaking nuts and grains and why it is important. The cards can be printed and put together and even decorated and colored by the children as a way to make the book their own and help them get excited about making and trying their own food. The cards are designed to be printed front and back, then cut out and laminated and kept on a ring, but they could also be stored in a recipe box or however you would like to use them.
